Class Schedule (February through May 2013)

To Register for a Class:

Choose from one of the following three options: print out our registration form, fill it out and mail it to us along with a check (and a self-addressed stamped envelope); call our shop at 607-358-4016 and provide us with your class choice(s) and credit card information; or stop by our shop and provide us with your class choice(s) along with your payment, using cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.

Class Registration Policy:

Payment is required upon registration. You may register by one of the three options listed above. We must make a commitment to our teachers based on registration. Therefore, if you cancel less than one week before your class, your class fee cannot be refunded.

Class supply lists are available at our front desk. Supplies should be purchased and prepared prior to each class. Sewing machines are required for all quilting classes unless otherwise stated. In addition, The Witch's Stitches offers a 10% discount on all supplies purchased for use in our classes. And, yes, these purchases count on your Customer Loyalty cards!

Civil War Anniversary Quilt

In this multiple-day class taught by Sandra Felthousen, you'll not only create a beautiful Civil War-style quilt, but Sandra will share with you the historic significance of each block. In the first segment of this project you'll be creating 2 - 3 blocks per class and at the end will have enough blocks to create a lap quilt. If you chose to follow-through with the next two segments (offered in May - June and July) you'll be learning techniques to create the more intricate blocks and you'll have enough blocks to complete a beautiful king sized bed cover! History, new skills and a great group of ladies! What more could you ask for?

The 1600 Quilt - Beginning Quilting!

If you've seen the 1600 quilt on Youtube, you'll love this class. It teaches the Strip Quilt technique and can be mastered in this one class. Purchase a Jellyroll package or create your strips from your favorite color pallet. Class size is limited so contact the shop today.

Beginners Quilting Classes - Take one or all Three!!

The Good Times Placemat - This one-class project is the perfect gift for a youngster's birthday or special occasion or serves as the perfect Mother's Day gift. Taught by Kathy Karnas, this class instructs you in cutting,piecing and color coordination on a smaller scale than a full quilt. MACHINE APPLIQUE

Have you ever seen those beautiful projects enhanced with vines, flowers, pumpkins or other embellishments and wondered how it was done? Now you can learn this simple method of attaching shapes to your quilt, table runner or wall hanging with your sewing machine. Learn cutting, fusing and stitch embellishing in this 4 hour course!

Beginners' Knitting

Another chance at a great course. Taught by Ruth Riesbeck, learn the basics of working with yarn to create a simple scarf. In addition you'll learn how to choose a good yarn, what size needles to use and what gadgets make the process easy and fun! And, if you like what you learn with this course, you can sign up for others to learn the stitches needed to create sweaters, hats and more!
